"How To Get The Best Results From Relaxation Audios: Top 10 Tips" by Tarun Patel

Subliminal relaxation audio programs are a very effective way to learn relaxation techniques and reduce stress levels quickly. The best results are gained by using the audios every day for at least several weeks. You will cope better with stressful situations and feel more in control as you become more comfortable with using relaxation techniques. These tips will help you get the most out of your audio program.

1. Be as comfortable as you can be before starting. Take off your shoes, ties and loosen your belt. Wear comfortable clothing and have the room at a warn temperature. Take the phone off the hook.

2. Don't worry if your mind wanders and you start thinking of other things while listening. This is normal and will improve each time you practice. Just gently bring your attention back to the relaxation audio.

3. Try and practice at the same time of day, at a time when it is quiet and when you won't be interrupted.

4. Don't try and learn relaxation skills when you are feeling upset or very anxious. This is the most common reason for people reporting that it ‘doesn't work’. Just like learning any other new skill, it is more difficult if you are upset or anxious.

5. Practice slowing down your breathing several times during the day. When relaxed you breathe at 12-15 breaths per minute. Start noticing your breathing and how your body feels when you are relaxed and breathing slowly. Just noticing, and slowing breathing down a few times a day will help you learn the relaxation methods faster when you are listening to the audio.

6. Lie down on a bed, a lounge or a recliner chair to use the relaxation audio. Make sure you are comfortable before you start.

7. As you learn to relax you may drift off to sleep. Don't worry if this often happens. You are still gaining benefits from listening. As you gain more control you will be able to keep awake, and feel deeply relaxed, but don't try and ‘force’ yourself to do this. It will cause more tension and make relaxation more difficult. Just accept it and continue practicing.

8. Keep a diary of your daily stress level, any physical signs such as headaches and sore muscles, and a record of your practice. This will help you to identify the causes of your stress and see the improvements you are making.

9. Try not to hold your breath as you listen to the audio. Often people hold their breath without realizing it. If you become aware that you are doing this then just slowly let the breath out and relax your shoulders, that will help you to breathe more easily.

10. Don't worry about how you are doing compared to other people. Everybody can learn to relax at will if they practice. It may take some people longer than others depending on how much stress they have in their life and if they have other health problems. So don't give up and don't be critical of your progress as you learn to control stress with relaxation methods.

Relaxation is a skill that anyone can learn with a bit of practice. It is a skill that can help adults and children to minimize stress and feel calmer. Using relaxing self help audio will help you learn to relax faster. Keep track of your progress, don't give up and your ability to relax will soon have you feeling much more in control of stressful situations.
